What are GIST’s technical requirements?

Windows

  • Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 20 MB available hard drive space
  • (optional) a network connection to access online resources at http://stratepedia.org/

Note that GIST may operate in other versions of Windows; however, Velvet Bridge cannot officially support these configurations.

The GIST application installer places files in the following locations on the startup volume:

  • Program Files\Gist
  • Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Gist
  • Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Gist
  • Documents and Settings\[user]\My Documents\My Organizers

Macintosh

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or newer
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 20 MB available hard drive space
  • (optional) a network connection to access online resources at http://www.stratepedia.org/

In addition, GIST will create a folder in a user’s Documents folder (~/Documents/My Organizers) the first time he or she launches the application.

Additional Hardware and Software Dependencies

  • GIST is entirely self-contained and requires no additional software.
  • GIST requires no modifications to school firewalls for outside network access. Professional developers and educators using the software may wish to access resources located at http://depot.stratepedia.org/
